Richard Bowser, editor and founder of Property Investor News Magazine, welcomed Louise Reynolds of Property Venture onto the PINCast to discuss the topic of due diligence and the need for thorough research when investing in property projects.

In this latest PINCast, they explored the importance of due diligence from both the perspective of property investors and developers in this constantly evolving marketplace. They both suggested using an online registry to verify claims made by developers and to check the authenticity of project ownership. 

Louise emphasized the need for triangulation, checking information from three independent sources, and Richard suggested seeking up to seven sources if the situation is critically important. They cautioned against complacency and overconfidence in both investors and developers, and stressed the need for thorough investigation to avoid potential pitfalls.

Biography: Louise Reynolds started investing in 2007 with her first investment property bought overseas in Krakow in Poland. She is an investor, landlord and developer based in Surrey. She helps time-strapped professionals invest in property through her bespoke sourcing service or supporting through mentoring and consultancy. She describes herself as a Prudent Property Investor, she is risk-averse so has an affinity for de-risking investments. She is an active speaker on the property circuit and has been asked for her opinion in numerous press publications like The Times, The Telegraph, A Place in the Sun and has been interviewed for a number of Podcasts.
